6. Configuration and Control Tasks of the GAC-16M system

(1) GAC-16M configuration
The GAC-16M system is configured on the basic concepts described below.
(a) GAC-16MG's are controllers which are not merely "automation equipment", but perform basic control functions with no distinction between MANUAL and AUTO.
(b) The GAC-16M system includes relay logic which allows at least synchronous closing and load sharing control to be done manually even if a GAC-16MG fails.
(c) Control tasks concerning safety of ships (emergency stop, interlock or the like) are ensured by separate relay logic.
(2) GAC-16M generator control tasks
Generator control tasks of the GAC-16M system are summarized in the Table. 1.
For automated control with unattended machinery spaces, "number of generators" control for energy saving, and the like, GAC-16M follows the concepts of the centralized power control scheme.
